For private hosts

The best evenings do not happen in restaurants.

A private chef comes to you, cooks in your kitchen and serves in courses. From two people, in Zürich and across Switzerland.

In a restaurant you sit between other people’s tables, with the house music and a menu somebody else wrote. After two hours the bill arrives, politely. At home it is a different matter.

You are there for your guests, knowing the kitchen is handled professionally and exactly as planned. Delivery, preparation and service are in the hands of people who know how to move through someone’s home.

Custom Menus

Some people know exactly what they want. Others tell us what they like to eat and leave us to it. Both work. We have cooked menus from countries we had never worked in, because a guest came from there.

On one occasion it was a marriage proposal, entirely private, with nobody else watching.

From two people

An evening for two, a birthday dinner for eight, twenty around a long table. At a laid table it works comfortably up to about 30.

FAQs

What does a private chef in Zürich cost?

Lunch and dinner from CHF 80 per person, served in courses. Shopping, preparation, delivery, cooking, service and cleaning the kitchen afterwards are all included.

What is your minimum?

From two people. At a laid table the limit is the size of your dining room, in practice up to around 30. Beyond that it becomes an event, and we plan it as one.

Do we need a large kitchen?

No. An ordinary hob, water and power are enough. Before the evening we look at the kitchen and establish what we bring.

Is the kitchen left clean?

When we leave, your kitchen is spotless. We take the dishes and glasses with us and dispose of waste and empties properly.

Does Michele cook himself?

MicheleKocht is owner-led. Michele holds every first meeting himself and is on site at your event. For private chef bookings and boardroom lunches he cooks himself. At larger events he takes overall charge and runs the service himself all evening.

Will you cook dishes that are not on a menu?

Tell us which cuisine you want, or tell us the occasion and the dish. We have cooked menus from countries we had never worked in, because a guest came from there.

Do you provide drinks and bar staff?

Yes, if you want it. Cocktails, a wine pairing and non-alcoholic drinks. Drinks are invoiced on what is actually drunk.

Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, lactose-free, gluten-free and allergies are discussed in advance.

How late can we book?

Five days is comfortable. Shorter notice is often possible, depending on the date.

When can you book a private chef?

An evening for two on an anniversary. A birthday dinner for the closest family. A dinner with guests you would like to impress without it looking like an effort. Or a Friday when you neither want to cook nor go out.

Do you travel outside Zürich?

Yes, throughout Switzerland.
